We started this ministry after visiting with one of the
residents at the Regency Manor. Everyone wanted to talk to us. They didn’t want
us to leave.
After a lot of thought and Prayer, we decided to have a
Birthday Party once a month for those who have a Birthday in that month. Each
one gets a bag of gifts (shampoo, lotion, hair brush, nail file, tooth brush,
shaving lotion, writing tablet, pen, pencil, ect.), a vase of flowers for the
women and a mug of flowers for the men.
Everyone in the home is invited to attend the party. We
serve kool-aid, cookies and cupcakes. On special holidays everyone receives a
small gift.
We have four helpers, Ray and Betty Collins, Charlie and Dorthy McNay,
a piano player – Judy Cooper and a clown – Tonya Evans.
Everyone enjoys it. We sure get a blessing from visiting the home and seeing all those happy faces!
