Pictures of the early church
On May 1st, 1952, a group of people belonging to the
A constitution was
adopted, officers were elected and Bro. Grover F. Tyner of
Piner Baptist
participated in many worthy causes from the beginning, such as helping support
the Old Folks Home, Baptist Orphans Homes at Louisville, The Cooperative
Program, Kenton County Protestant Association, Oneida Institute and others. In
the summer of 1952
By April of 1953 the
church membership was at 119 and Sunday School enrollment was 134. A parsonage
was purchased in 1953. Having received so many blessings during the first year
as a church, we were spurred on by faith to carry on God’s work in the
community.
Bro. Robert
The note on the
educational building was paid in full on June 30th, 1954. In August 1954 a
revival was held with Bro. Jim Coldron of Covington, Ky. Fifteen people were
baptized and two received by letter. Under Bro. Wilson’s efficient leadership
our church was growing spiritually and physically. At this time we had W.M.U.,
Brotherhood, G.A. and R.A. groups formed. Sunday School and Training
On September 1st, 1955 a planning committee was appointed to study plans for a new auditorium.
